Georgia Football: Are the rich about to get richer with Dylan Raiola?
Georgia football just won its second national championship and one way to keep the dynasty going into the future is by landing five-star QB Dylan Raiola.
It’s been a pretty good week for the Georgia football program. That’s an understatement obviously as the Bulldogs won their second consecutive national championship on Monday in dominating fashion over TCU.
The 65-7 win by Georgia football wasn’t just the biggest win in the College Football Playoff National Championship, it was the most lopsided bowl win of all time.
It’s hard to believe but in the entire history of college bowl games, no one beat a team as badly as the Bulldogs beat TCU for their second straight national title.
The talk is now about how likely a three-peat will be for the Bulldogs. The chances honestly look pretty good, but on the recruiting front, Georgia football could be closing in on a commitment that could help deliver more national titles in the future.
Five-star QB Dylan Raiola trending to the Bulldogs
Five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola was at the national championship game on Monday night and on Tuesday, Steve Wiltfong of 247 sports put in a crystal ball projection for Raiola to the Bulldogs.
We mentioned Georgia as a top contender when the No. 1 player and overall recruit in the 2024 class decommitted from Ohio State. The Bulldogs have a 2024 QB commitment, from four-star Ryan Puglisi, but UGA didn’t land any QBs in 2023 after going hard after Arch Manning.
Obviously, Arch went to Texas and the five-star superstar quarterback is one thing that has alluded the Bulldogs under Kirby Smart. Justin Fields was obviously spectacular but transferred to Ohio State.
Stetson Bennett, who is older than about half the NFL quarterbacks starting in the playoffs this weekend, was a former walk-on and while he was stellar these past few seasons, the Bulldogs haven’t had someone like Caleb Williams playing the game’s most important position.
Now, that looks very possible. The On3 prediction machine still favors Nebraska but there are multiple Futurecast picks from Rivals for Dylan Raiola to Georgia and it makes sense. He said the program was “different” after the national title win and he’s right. It is.
Georgia is in a position to dominate college football for years to come and if Smart is able to land Dylan Raiola, the consensus top quarterback/player in the 2024 class, it would further cement the Bulldogs’ status as a current and future college football dynasty.
