Oregon Football is killing it on the recruiting trail after another commitment
Oregon football is having a really strong month and landing its fourth commitment on Monday which will move the Ducks into the top five of 247 team rankings.
College football fans learned on last Early National Signing Day that Dan Lanning knows how to recruit and the Oregon football head coach offered a reminder on Monday.
The Ducks have actually been on a roll for the past month or so. In April, Oregon football landed a three-star quarterback in Luke Moga and also four others.
This past weekend, Oregon got another quarterback, this time it was the No. 11 quarterback in 2024 Michael Van Buren. Xadavien Sims also committed on Saturday and the 6-foot-3, 275-pounder is ranked 197 overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings.
However, the run is far from over and we saw that on Monday as the Ducks got the commitment of four-star wideout Dillon Gresham, who is ranked No. 407th overall in the 2024 class but has incredible numbers and had more than 2,000 receiving yards last season.
In California, that’s pretty impressive. His ranking should be jumping up at some point and it’s a really good get for the Ducks who are putting together another really good class and have the top-ranked group of commitments in the Pac-12 as of right now.
Oregon’s recruiting momentum shouldn’t stop soon
Oregon is also far from finished. Another player that the Ducks could be adding to the 2024 class is top-ranked offensive tackle Brandon Baker, who was on campus for a visit this weekend.
Baker tweeted that “There’s jus(t) some(thing) about that O…,” in reference to the Oregon logo on the Ducks’ helmet.
Baker is ranked 26th overall according to the On3 Industry rankings. He was projected to Oregon by Ducks insider Justin Hopkins of Scoop Duck in October. That gives the Ducks a 76-percent chance to land his commitment via the On3.com prediction machine.
Oregon also has a better than 70-percent chance for Elijah Rushing, a 2024 five-star defensive end ranked 24th overall in the On3 Industry rankings. Beyond the potential of five-star additions on the offensive and defensive lines, Oregon football has 14 commitments total, and 11 of them are ranked as a four-star prospects or better.
That puts their blue-chip ratio at 78 percent so far in the 2024 class and that’s actually better than top-ranked Michigan. My bet is still on Georgia to wind up as the top-ranked team in the final 247 Sports team rankings, but Oregon isn’t far behind, at least in terms of quality additions.
We also know that Lanning and the Ducks are from done.
