Billy Napier has been on and off the hot seat during his short tenure at Florida, but after the Gators’ pitiful showing against Kentucky, the heat was back on again.
If you ever want to see how a college football coach is viewed in the eyes of fans, a quick cursory glance at social media can be a good indication, especially for a struggling team.
Billy Napier has had his share of public outcry directed his way, but after Florida’s big win over Tennessee at the Swamp last week, it seemed maybe the Gators and Napier had turned the corner.
The Gators rolled into Lexington with a ton of confidence, and the blueprint to end the two-game losing streak to the Wildcats.
Kentucky and Ray Davis had other plans.
With the exception of a couple of decently executed drives, the Gators were manhandled by the Wildcats on both sides of the ball, and Florida dropped their third consecutive game to Big Blue.
Billy Napier might have just landed back on the hot seat with this one. Getting blown out by Kentucky is simply inexcusable. pic.twitter.com/leil5ZSe7q

The social media reaction was swift and harsh and has continued on through the evening hours following the loss.
Billy Napier got testy last week when he was asked about the constant special teams mistakes.

He better buckle up if he couldn’t handle that last week.
Billy Napier is the worst out of all the bums we’ve hired.

It’s not even close.

I'm not as anti-Billy Napier as most.
And Dan Mullen left a *huge* mess.
And this is in *no* way, a knock on Kentucky's performance today.
But, in the transfer portal era, Florida should never be this un-talented.
Ever.
There's just no excuse.
I am ready for the @coach_bnapier experiment to be over. Florida needs to stop hiring morons that can’t coach and only look good because they have success in garbage conferences. No mystery that he got fired from the OC job at Clemson and didn’t touch the offense at Bama.

Some fans even got a little…well…personal
I hope Billy Napier gets a flat tire at some point this week

Safe to say, the Gator Nation isn’t going to have a lot of patience with Billy Napier for the rest of this season. Sadly for Napier, the Gators still have games coming up against Georgia, LSU and Florida State.
Might be time to get that resume polished up and find some moving boxes, coach.
