Washington is going to move up to No. 6 this week and some might wonder why the Huskies aren’t No. 5 and that’s because their win over the No. 8 Oregon Ducks wasn’t quite as impressive as Oklahoma’s win over No. 3 Texas last weekend in the Red River Rivalry, on paper. AP voters will keep the Huskies one spot behind the Sooners.

But Michael Penix Jr. had himself a Heisman moment.

Down by four with a couple of minutes left, Penix led the Huskies down the field in a few plays and scored a quick touchdown to give Washington a huge win in the rivalry.

Oregon came in with revenge on the mind after last year’s loss at home, but Washington thwarted that attempt.

The Huskies are my current favorite to win the Pac-12 but there’s still a long way to go. Penix should be considered a Heisman favorite.
