From the College Football Playoff to every other postseason game, here are our updated College Football Bowl projections after Week 9.

This week is going to be exciting for college football fans. This will be the first week of the College Football Playoff rankings which will make college fooball bowl projections more interesting.

There were some important results over the weekend in terms of the playoff race. The biggest was Oklahoma losing to Kansas. To me, that puts the Pac-12 champion, as long as it’s Oregon or Washington, in the driver’s seat to make the playoff.

Texas will have a case to make, especially if it’s Texas and Oregon head-to-head with one loss. You might even have Ohio State or Michigan in the mix with one loss.

But it’s clear that Georgia, Florida State, and Michigan, as long as they keep winning, will make the College Football Playoff. Ohio State will be interesting if they end up 11-1.

For now, here are the Week 9 college football bowl projections starting with the College Fooball Playoff games.

College Football Bowl projections: Playoff games

National title game: Michigan vs. Georgia

Rose Bowl: Michigan vs. Florida State

Sugar Bowl: Georgia vs. Oregon

Thoughts on College Football Playoff projections

Oregon looks like a top-four team to me. Utah is really tough to beat at home and it was stunning to see the Ducks win 35-6. If this team wins out and beats Washington, the only team to defeat it, they will have a strong case to make.

Texas can make that same argument if it beats Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game. The Sooners need to get there with one loss and the loss on Saturday to Kansas already hurt Texas in some ways.

The win over Alabama looms as still probably the best non-conference win of any college football team since it was on the road. Ohio State has a solid win over Notre Dame, plus a victory over Penn State.

But if the Ducks and Horns win their respective league titles, the Ohio State or Michgan loser will be on the outside looking in.
