Week 7 of the NFL season is almost in the books, as the only games remaining are on Monday Night, as the Buccaneers, Lions, Texans, and Seahawks are the only teams yet to play. After Week 7, plenty of teams are riding high with the hopes of making the Playoffs, while others felt like they truly hit rock bottom this weekend.
The New York Jets are the NFL's only remaining winless team after falling to 0-7 this weekend, as the biggest disaster in the league. The Jets aren't the only team in the league struggling, as 10 teams have 2 or fewer wins, while 12 teams are below .500. As we near the midway point of the NFL season, a massive group of fanbases is turning their attention to the mock drafts, as this season no longer has hope.
Week 7 NFL Mock Draft: Dante Moore benefits from Tua struggles
The New York Jets fell to 0-7 on Sunday in a game where they played both Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor and neither proved to be the answer. This team needs to find a steadying force at quarterback to build around, and Indiana's Fernando Mendoza fits the bill. Mendoza has been a star since moving to Indiana, and his accuracy would help as the Jets rebuild.
Tua Tagovailoa got benched on Sunday in a 3-interception game, which proved the Dolphins need to cut bait even with the massive cap hit. When the Dolphins likely find their new head coach, they'll move to a new quarterback to build around. After spending a year behind Dillon Gabriel, Dante Moore has emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the Country, and as he continues to get experience, he's only going to become more attractive as an NFL Draft prospect.
Spencer Rattler shows flashes of being a potential fix for the New Orleans Saints, but he also can throw 3 interceptions in a game, like he did on Sunday. Kellen Moore gave the quarterbacks on the roster a chance, but he's going to want his own quarterback to build around and develop. No one has been more impressive than Ty Simpson to start the season, as he keeps getting better each weekend for Alabama.
The Tennessee Titans have already fired their coach, and it's clear that this team needs to add talent all over the field. As this team looks to get back to their winning ways in the AFC South they need to add blue chip players. Caleb Downs is far and away the most talented player in the draft and even though he's a safety, adding a player who can have the level of impact Downs can have would be a massive addition for this defense.
The bye week couldn't have come at a better time for the Baltimore Ravens, as injuries have led them to a 1-5 record to start the season. When Lamar Jackson returns, this team should start winning games, but if the season ended today, the Ravens would hold the 5th overall pick. Rueben Bain Jr is the elite edge rusher this team could desperately use and the exact kind of player they need to find a way to add this offseason.
The Cleveland Browns are still trying to figure out if Dillon Gabriel can be the guy, while they also have Shedeur Sanders with Deshaun Watson coming back, they likely won't take a quarterback early. If the Browns are going to have a quarterback succeed, nailing down the offensive line will be key, and Utah's Spencer Fano would instantly plug a hole for this team.
The Raiders have far too many holes on this roster to do anything aside from taking the best player available. This offseason, the Raiders parted ways with star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, leaving a void in the middle of their defense. Clemson star Peter Woods would be a great addition to the middle of this defense, as he can help take attention away from Maxx Crosby.
Before the Giants blew a 19-0 lead in the 4th Quarter, the team looked like it could trade for a star receiver to help Jaxson Dart, but at 2-5, giving up any assets would be a waste. The Giants are likely going to miss the Playoffs again, but this team will have a ton of optimism heading into 2026. Adding an elite field-stretching wide receiver like Carnell Tate to a wide receiver room with Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson would make the Giants a solid offense.
Outside of Josh Sweat, who has been a monster this season, the Arizona Cardinals struggle to get after the passer. As Arizona looks to continue building this roster, the Cardinals should take a swing on Texas Tech star David Bailey. The Stanford transfer has been a superstar for the Red Raiders, racking up an insane 10.5 sacks in 7 games.
The top priority for the Houston Texans has to be improving the offensive line for CJ Stroud after blowing the unit up this offseason. The good news for the Houston Texans is that this class is loaded with offensive tackles who can make an instant impact on the offensive line. Miami star Francis Mauigoa has the potential to grow into an elite offensive tackle and would help fill one of the glaring holes in the Texans group.
The Cincinnati Bengals' offense has fallen off without Joe Burrow, but when he returns, this team still needs to improve on the defensive side of the football. Trey Hendrickson will most likely depart this offseason after the Bengals didn't give him a long-term deal. The Bengals could bring back a pass rush presence by adding Clemson star TJ Parker who'd form a fearsome young duo with Shemar Stewart.
The Washington Commanders aren't having the magical season they had last season, as the defense has taken a step back while the offense hasn't been nearly as explosive. Dan Quinn's defense needs a star pass rusher to help slow some of the explosive offenses in the NFC East. Keldric Faulk has proven he can be an elite pass rusher with a 7 sack season in 2024, and he'd give this defense a massive boost.
When the Dallas Cowboys traded away Micah Parsons, part of what made the decision so crazy was the fact that he could make an impact from so many different positions. The Cowboys could get that back almost instantly by drafting Arvel Reese who’s emerging as one of the best players in the Country this season rushing off the edge and making plays in the middle.
The Rams have built one of the NFL's most exciting front 7s by nailing almost every draft pick, giving this team a new identity. After building a fearsome front of the defense, the Rams should use one of their 1st round picks to land a star cornerback. Mansoor Delane has looked like an elite cornerback after making the jump to the SEC, and he'd be an instant plug-and-play player for the Rams.
On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings' holes in the secondary were exposed as the Philadelphia Eagles kept airing it out. The top priority for the Vikings should be landing a young cornerback to help elevate this group, especially in the NFC North, where every team can throw the ball with ease. Avieon Terrell is still one of the best cornerbacks in this draft class and would instantly be an upgrade over what the Vikings have.
Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers keep winning games, which is great for Young as it prevents the team from replacing him. If Bryce Young is going to be the Panthers quarterback next season, then they'll need to do whatever they can to help him out, and landing him an instant plug-and-play offensive lineman in Caleb Lomu would be key long-term.
The Chiefs got Rashee Rice back this weekend, and a ton of the concerns about the offense's ability to create explosive plays went away. The Chiefs should now look to improve in some of their other areas of weakness, and cornerback would be a great start. Jermod McCoy hasn't played this season as he recovers from injury, but when healthy, he's a potential Top 5 pick.
Ben Johnson has the Chicago Bears rolling as they're riding a 4-game winning streak after a 0-2 start to the season. As the offense has started to roll, the Bears should look to land a great pass rusher opposite Montez Sweat. Matayo Uiagalelei is off to a slower start to the season with 4 sacks, but he showed the potential to be a star in the NFL with a 10.5 sack season in 2024.
The Browns have a loaded quarterback room, and if they're going to draft a quarterback, one they can develop would make a ton of sense. LaNorris Sellers has all the tools to be a star in the NFL, and he'd be best served by sitting behind the other quarterbacks for a year, getting better in the areas where he's struggled.
The Chargers are desperately missing Poona Ford at defensive tackle as the Colts ran all over the Chargers this weekend. Florida's Caleb Banks would be the perfect addition to this defense as he's a Top-5 level talent when healthy, but injuries have cost him time this season.
When the Buffalo Bills do struggle, it becomes clear that Josh Allen could use a go-to guy at wide receiver. Jordyn Tyson has been one of the best quarterbacks in College Football over the last two seasons and would give Allen another threat on the outside.
The Seattle Seahawks struck gold moving on from Geno Smith while bringing in Sam Darnold based on how the two have looked. The top priority this offseason will now be adding the players around Sam Darnold to ensure the offense keeps its stride. Kadyn Proctor has all the talent to be an elite offensive lineman in the NFL, and he could help improve this group at either tackle position.
The Detroit Lions have an elite in-the-box linebacker in Alex Anzalone and another on the rise in Jack Campbell. Where the Lions defense would be best suited would be by landing a linebacker with Sonny Styles' skillset, as the former safety would be a massive addition to a group that struggles against the pass.
If the Rams are going to roll with Matthew Stafford in 2026, they'll have to do whatever they can to protect him. The Rams could use an upgrade at either offensive tackle position, especially in the long term. Isaiah World has the physical tools to grow into an All-Pro caliber player and could even start the season learning behind the Rams' veterans.
If the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to roll with Aaron Rodgers again in 2026, they'll need to add pieces around him to pressure him. Drafting Jeremiyah Love would give the Steelers the bell cow running back they've always succeeded with, and his home run ability would help this team create explosive plays.
After showing a ton of promise as a rookie, Bo Nix has struggled in his second season as he may need more weapons. Chris Bell is one of the most impressive physical talents at wide receiver as he has 4.4 speed with a 6-foot-2 frame, which would make him a great weapon opposite Cortland Sutton.
It's hard to judge the San Francisco 49ers as they keep suffering devastating injuries each week, yet they keep finding a way to win. The area where the 49ers may look to improve is at wide receiver, as the team could use another weapon. Makai Lemon has had a great season for the USC Trojans and can be used in some of the same ways as Deebo Samuel.
The Philadelphia Eagles have a massive need at edge rusher to the point where franchise icon Brandon Graham is considering coming out of retirement to help the team. The Eagles have lost plenty of talent over the past several years and need to start rebuilding the defensive line. LT Overton has been stellar for Alabama, especially against the run, which will help a ton in the NFC East.
Drake Maye is starting to look like the best young quarterback in the NFL as he's been on fire this season. The Patriots now need to start surrounding him with elite young playmakers to maximize his rookie contract years. Kenyon Sadiq is one of the best pure athletes in this class, and with how much the Patriots use their tight ends, it'd be a massive addition for this offense.
All of the Dallas Cowboys' attention in the 2026 NFL Draft will need to go to the defense, as the offense is among the best in the NFL. The Cowboys should look to land chess pieces that can impact the defense in many ways, like they had in Micah Parsons, and Anthony Hill could fit that role. The Longhorns use Hill in the middle of the defense and rushing off the edge, which would make him a great addition to this defense.
Eventually, the Buccaneers are going to need to replace Lavonte David, but until that point, putting a great player next to him should be a priority. CJ Allen is a true old-school linebacker with more impressive physical traits and great range, which would help as David starts to age like Devin White was able to do.
The Colts are starting to look like a serious contender as Daniel Jones’ run is no longer a fluke. The reason this Colts team is playing so well is the fact that they’re talented all over this roster. The one area the Colts could use some help is at middle linebacker and Whit Weeks could be an incredible run defender for this group.
