Fall Camp is well underway around the Country, as every coach puts the finishing touches on their team before the start of an exciting season. In this new era of college football, camp is even more important as it allows coaches to work transfers into the roster. After Spring practices and the start of fall camp, 5 under the radar transfer wide receivers are emerging as potential breakout stars.
The 5 transfer WRs set to breakout in 2026
Jaime Ffrench - Michigan - Texas Transfer
Bryce Underwood needed more weapons, and the Michigan Wolverines made a bet on upside, adding Texas transfer Jaime Ffrench. Coming out of High School, Ffrench was a top 60 recruit and the 9th ranked wide receiver in the class, but he managed just 1 catch in a loaded Texas WR room. Since arriving at Michigan, Ffrench has shown the elite talent level he displayed in High School and could become Bryce Underwood's top target.
Quincy Porter - Notre Dame - Ohio State Transfer
Marcus Freeman used the Transfer Portal to take swings on several former top recruits, including wide receiver Quincy Porter. Coming out of High School, Quincy Porter was a 5-star recruit, but in Ohio State's loaded wide receiver room, consistent playing time was impossible to come by. Notre Dame will use Porter's 6-foot-4 frame to replace Malachi Fields, giving CJ Carr a big weapon on the outside.
Mylan Graham - Notre Dame - Ohio State Transfer
Along the same path of adding Quincy Porter, Marcus Freeman added another former Ohio State wide receiver in Mylan Graham. As a Freshman, Mylan Graham showed flashes of what he could be, catching 6 passes for 93 yards. Graham will have a significant role in Notre Dame's wide receiver rotation and should emerge as a star with more playing time.
Micah Mays - Florida - Wake Forest Transfer
The Florida Gators wide receiver room is loaded with Dallas Wilson and Vernell Brown III returning, and the addition of Auburn transfer Eric Singleton Jr only adds to the unit. Adding Wake Forest transfer Micah Mays to the mix gives Florida 4 potential 1,000-yard wide receivers to help lead the offense. Mays has the ability to play any of the 3 wide receiver positions, and even if he's not a starter he'll get a ton of reps in this offense.
Johntay Cook II - Ole Miss - Syracuse Transfer
Few players in college football have had as crazy a journey as former 5-star recruit Johntay Cook II. After signing with Texas out of High School, Cook spent a brief period at Washington before playing for Syracuse with messy tenures at each school. Cook has flashed his talent at each stop with 549 yards last season, but Trinidad Chambliss will be the best quarterback he's played with, and he could unlock Cook's talent.
