Last week, a judge in Louisiana handed down a landmark decision, granting 16 former college football stars an injunction which would allow them to return to college football for another season. Given all the other recent rulings, the injunction wasn’t a major surprise, but the decision to grant it to players who were already in NFL Training Camps was the shocker given that they already moved on to the next level.
Instantly, everyone pointed to former LSU edge rusher Jack Pyburn as the player the Tigers could take back on their roster, even as he recorded 2 sacks in his first preseason game. Instead, former Ole Miss tight end Dae’Quan Wright was the first target to emerge with Browns head coach Todd Monken speaking about how bizarre the whole situation was.
On Sunday, Dae’Quan Wright was released, paving the way for him to land at LSU, and as if one former NFL player wasn’t enough, Lane Kiffin went back for more on Monday.
Lane Kiffin reportedly adds former Ole Miss DT Zxavian Harris to LSU’s roster
On Monday afternoon, Lane Kiffin continued to exploit the latest loophole in the system as LSU reportedly added former Ole Miss defensive tackle Zxavian Harris to the roster.

This offseason, Zxavian Harris signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent, but was released on August 8th.
Zxavian Harris spent all 4 years of his initial college football career playing for Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss. Harris had a major role in the defense over the past three seasons, racking up 58 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 pass deflections, and an interception for the Rebels last season.
The ironic part of Harris joining Lane Kiffin at LSU is the fact that he was one of the players most vocal about Kiffin's departure.

LSU is slated to bring in a mostly new group on the interior defensive line which likely made adding a veteran in Harris a priority. The Tigers added transfers Malik Blocton and Stephiylan Green to returnee Dominick McKinley, along with a talented trio of freshmen in Lamar Brown, Deuce Geralds, and Richard Anderson.
While LSU had a major need on the interior of the defensive line, Lane Kiffin is making a mockery of the standards of college football. The judge may have ruled that the players could play next season, but nearly every coach who's been asked about the situation has stated how it goes against everything that college football is truly about.
The Tigers may be better on the field for the additions, but Lane Kiffin's only adding more distractions for his team to overcome while growing the target on their back. The SEC and NCAA will certainly push back against the judge's ruling, and two Ole Miss players moving within the conference outside the set transfer window, meaning this is just the beginning of the drama.
