Jalen Bates commits to Arizona State: Sun Devils land 3-Star DE

After having their prayers answered on a hail Mary against the USC Trojans, the Arizona State Sun Devils landed a pledge from 3-Star defensive end Jalen Bates.

Their roll continued on Tuesday when 3-Star defensive end Jalen Bates committed to Arizona State.

The 6’4, 240-pound Bates is from Kaplan, Louisiana and chose Arizona State over offers from the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, Texas A&M Aggies and Texas Tech Red Raiders, among others.

Bates is ranked as the country’s 23rd-best weak-side defensive end prospect, the 24th-best overall prospect in the state of Louisiana and the 495th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Arizona State now has 13 commitments, headlined by 4-Star quarterback Brady White and 4-Star athlete Jaason Lewis.
