Dez Bryant Stadium coming to Oklahoma State?

Dez Bryant came to terms on a new deal with the Dallas Cowboys and now another new deal has been presented before him about naming rights to Oklahoma State’s football stadium.

The Dallas Cowboys and Dez Bryant beat the deadline and agreed to a five-year, $70 million extension to keep him in Big D for the foreseeable future and keep their franchise player happy after slapping him with the franchise tag earlier in the offseason.

Bryant threatened to hold out until a new deal was done and now that he’s agreed to the contract that will make him an even richer person, another new deal has been presented to Bryant from Oklahoma State booster T. Boone Pickens.

Sort of.

Pickens tweeted a message to Bryant, who played wide receiver for the Cowboys from 2007-2009 and was a consensus All-American in 2008 after catching 87 passes for 1,480 yards and 19 touchdowns, asking if he’s interested in splitting naming rights to the football stadium.

Yes, he’s kidding and it will remain T. Boone Pickens Stadium for the foreseeable future and rightfully so after the enormous amount of money he’s donated to Oklahoma State and the football and athletic programs. Pickens donated $165 million in 2005 was the single largest donation to a college athletic department and was instrumental in renovating the stadium that now bears his name.

But something tells me a Pickens-Bryant Stadium may not fly well considering Bryant was ruled ineligible after three games in 2009 after failing to disclose to NCAA investigators the full details of his contact and relationship with former NFL player Deion Sanders.
