Want to have the football locker room at your beloved university named after you? Then just do what Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson did, and donate a (probably) truckload of cash to the school.

Schools love cash.

Nelson, a former walk-on at the Kansas State program, has reportedly donated an undisclosed amount to the university, prompting the school to adorn the locker room with his name. The gift will be used as part of the $8 million that has been raised for ongoing renovations to the Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The Wildcat faithful will more than likely not have a problem with Nelson’s name on the locker room door, as he’s one of the schools biggest rags-to-riches success stories, and yet another one of Bill Snyder’s triumphs as a coach.

Nelson walked on to the K-State program in 2003 as a defensive back, but it was Snyder who saw something more there and moved him to wide receiver. His rise through the program under both Snyder and then Ron Prince led to him being selected in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.

The Manhattan, Ks. product has gone on to an impressive NFL career, including several All-Pro selections, an appearance in the 2014 Pro Bowl, and an NFL Championship in 2010.

As the old saying goes, it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
