AP Top 25 for Week 8: LSU moves into top 5, Ole Miss falls to No. 24
The latest AP Top 25 poll is out after Week 7 saw two undefeated teams ranked in the top 10 lose on Saturday.
The Ohio State Buckeyes continue to see other teams eat into their lead for the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25, with the Baylor Bears only 12 points shy of the top spot and the Utah Utes having 16 first-place votes to Ohio State’s 28.
The TCU Horned Frogs continue to slide from their high-water mark as the No. 2 team despite continuing to win. The LSU Tigers and Clemson Tigers round out the top six with the two undefeated teams each receiving one first-place vote apiece.
Michigan State stays at No. 7 after their last-second win against Michigan who only fell three spots to No. 15 after blowing their lead after fumbling a snap on a punt that was returned for the game-winning touchdown as time expired. Michigan never trailed until the final whistle.
Florida fell five spots to 13 and Texas A&M fell six spots to 15 after their losses to LSU and Alabama, respectively, but the biggest loser in this week’s Top 25 is Ole Miss who fell 11 spots to No. 24 after they lost to Memphis who enters the Top 25 at 18 after being unranked the week before.
The biggest winner this week is Pat Narduzzi’s Pittsburgh Panthers who sit at No. 25 after being ranked 73rd last week.
