I decided to go with just one newcomer defensive back for this list even though the Gators have a couple who would see the field right away. Corey Collier fills a position of need and although Jason Marshall may be the most talented and highest-rated signee in the 2021 class for Florida, the need for a safety may be greater.

Collier is the second-highest rated early enrollee for the Gators, behind Marshall, ranked No. 106 in the class as well as the sixth-best safety, according to the composite.

How can you not put this kid in the lineup right away or at least on the two-deep with both Donovan Stiner and Shawn Davis gone? Collier has solid size at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds and getting on campus this winter is only going to help his case.

I could see both Marshall and Collier getting on the field together at the same time this season and this just proves that the future is incredibly bright in Gainesville.

It’s going to need to be after the defensive disaster in 2020.
